We replaced the original curved kidney-shaped pool with a clean, modern 8 × 4 m rectangular design, giving the space a fresh sense of luxury and life. The new layout also allowed for the installation of an efficient slatted cover system, helping the pool heat quickly and maintain its temperature with ease.
Finished in deep blue 40 mm mosaic tiles and complemented by a 20 mm porcelain paving surround, this pool delivers a striking year-round blue—creating the perfect courtyard oasis.
The client chose a larger than normal, blue mosaic tile for the interior, including the steps, creating a seamless transition into the water for uninterrupted geometry. Patio porcelain stone was used for the top ’tileband’ of the pool to help the illusion of a bigger space in the courtyard.
Defined entirely by straight lines, this new design is timeless and contemporary.
With a solar gain slatted cover system, and walled from prevailing winds this pool is very cost effective to heat and an absolute sun trap!
Surrounding the pool is a light grey granite edge coping stone, with matching paving and adequate drainage future proofing this space and keeping maintenance of the area to a minimum.

With limited access on this site…. We lifted materials and equipment in over the wall. The initial excavation required the partial removal of the old concrete kidney-shaped pool.
